If you're looking for a new running watch, here are some features I think runners will love about the new Huawei Watch Fit.

Last week Huawei introduced the Huawei Watch Fit, their newest fitness tracker to add to their growing family of smartwatches. After reading through the features and specifications of this watch, it looks like the Watch Fit is being positioned to compete against the Fitbit Charge 4 or the Garmin Vivosport line with a very competitive price of P4,999, if you’re looking for a new running watch, here are some features I think runners will love about the new Huawei Watch Fit.

1. Built-in GPS

Priced at P4,999 – a built-in GPS is definitely a big plus for the Huawei Watch Fit, this means you can run or walk and track your speed, pace and distance even without your phone. Some reviews mention that the GPS takes a while to get going, but once it gets started tracking seems to be accurate and you can review your workouts using the Huawei Health app.

2. Optical Heart Rate and Oxygen Saturation Detection

Aside from the Built-in GPS, the Huawei Watch Fit also comes with a built-in Optical Heart Rate Monitor that tracks your pulse in real time even when you’re sleeping, this is a feature most runners will love if you’re particular about the training zones you’re hitting during your workouts. As a bonus, the Watch Fit also comes built in with oxygen saturation (SpO2) technology that can help detect health problems.

3. Battery Life

Rated at 12 hours in GPS mode and 10 days in smartwatch mode, you can definitely use the Huawei Watch Fit for a marathon without worrying it will die off just before you cross the finish-line.

However, I do see one possible deal breaker after reading through some of the other reviews, besides the Huawei Health app, the Watch Fit does not have sync support to 3rd party applications like STRAVA, a possible deal breaker for some runners who wants to upload their running stats to these platforms. Nonetheless, if you want a solid GPS-enabled running watch with HR and Sleep capabilities, the Huawei Watch Fit can definitely be a strong contender.

The Huawei Watch Fit retails for Php 4,999 and is now available at the official Huawei online stores in both Lazada and Shopee
